No ziggy i think you can only use the ati overdrive tool. same principle though i imagine.
Had a quick go of Blops earlier on and was fine for around 20 mins then i got this.
One hard reset later and windows loaded up ok. Im thinking you were all right about the RMA with this. I was warned about ATI's drivers but after having a 5850 with no problems whatsoever i thought people were exaggerating. Starting to agree with them.![]()
Hmm.
1)So your saying its the hardware & its needs RMA, 2)then your saying you had no problems with drivers & 5850, 3) then your saying its the drivers again which are the problem which contradicts with 1 & 2 because others moan about drivers.
Anyway Driver Has stop responding is very common because it can be triggered by a great many things.
Ram incompatibly [memtest will not always pick up that one] Evidence , Timings Or going faulty.
GPU,CPU & system overclocking.
Mobo BIOS.
Faulty PSU or just not giving enough juice to the GPU .
GPU overheating & just plan faulty GPU.
Conflict with other SW.
Of coarse its possible with specific setups & specific games with specific In game or CCC settings which are known to crop up now & then but are very rare, I have never had that issue & neither any of my customers or friends who i have built for & likely because none of them OC or mess around with the PC like enthusiasts do & hence why enthusiasts get more Driver Has stop responding issue than any other group.
Seeing as its happening in such a wide range of games common ones its very likely its not the drivers & the fact that you tried different drivers with the same result.
