MSI R9 290X Lightning Critical Bug Can Cause Burned Out Cards – Fans Stop Working After Catalyst 14.

No being funny here but I calling bs on this. Why has know one on here reported burned out lighting? Ocuk not sold any?

This site reporting this should just be closed it's not the first time they send out rubbish.
Where is all the user reports?

I think its an issue of wording.
No cards killed yet but it could potentially.
 
I havent heard about burned out cards.
The fan issue is true, but doesnt mean the fans are not working. The case is the two larger fans not speeding up on load. They just spin at the default 30%. The little fan speeds up tho.
So to burn a card you really have to push OC with a 14.X driver. Stock speed or moderate OC is still ok with the beta drivers, but you wont see great temps.

As i'm sure 97% of others are, like every other MSI cooling problem its never all of them, its just a few which are completely stuffed.

If you don't have this problem now you probably never will.

Stop looking at it as AMD Vs nVidia and you might see the big picture. The site reporting this have gone on my info and their own investigations. Surely you would rather know prior to buying or installing the 14.x drivers that this is happening?

Nothing more than a potential issue that is stopping the 2 main fans from spinning up when the card gets hot. Hopefully no damaged cards as yet.

This needs to stop being looked at as 'they throttle at 94c anyhow so it wouldn't blow' and remember about those little things called vrms.

The lightning has a monster setup in terms of power delivery, if those aren't being cooled well enough then it may be game over.
