Start with i5 - It's not a platform and work your way up ;)
 
Am I the only one to be left cold by the idea of a touch-sensitive power switch on a motherboard? I can see it now, a strong gust from a fan or a cable moving around under tension and SPLAT, my PC has just turned itself off!
 
it would need a finger touch to work - resistance? i assume

like on the ps3 console power button, dangle a wire or a string over it and it wont magically come on :p
 
so the 60 doesn't have there shiny touch buttons ;)↲
going t have to spend a little research time tonight,funds have become really tight, not sure i can sit on 80 until xmas just to save a likely 30 quid once prices settle to the market.
 
It has a shiny power switch! Shiny enough for me anyway...

Would love to get one but the cheapest i5 cpu will be like £150 for ages so no point really may aswell wait until the cpu is much much cheaper.

Yeah but 4 physical cores - lose hyperthreading and it benches just under the i7-920 which makes it pretty good value wise - even at £160 it's still a goer.

I'm reading around for more clarification.

HOWEVER

Is LGA1156 really worth it ? Well certainly not on release day.

We're not really saving that much (100-120 vs LGA 1366 - with the MSI discount) ? ... If the boards were generically coming in at the 80-100 mark then LGA1156 would be the platform to take us forward
 
I've made up mind to save some sweat and tears by buying an SSD for my laptop instead (consolation prize)

You boys better get in there quick or it could all end up in tears ... Hell of a lot of interest in this 55% off launch day malarkey
