MSI to offer 55% launch-day discount on P55 motherboards

So what recommendations can we have for some good ram for the GD65 to pair with an I5 750? I know the GD65 only does dual channel, and doesn't it need to be a particular type of ram with low voltage?

On the RAM, you wnat the lowest CAS latency you can get - CAS7 if you can find it or CAS8. I've got the Corsair Dominator CAS8 stuff.

The memory controller performace is supposed to be horrible with CAS9 - the MSI reviewers guide makes a big fuss about lower speed, lower CAS being faster if I recall correctly.

I got this one Kingston 4GB (2x2GB) DDR3 1600MHz/PC3-12800 HyperX Memory Kit CL9(9-9-9-27) so i take it it wont be much use on my msi ?

Yewen, I put a post in the customer support forum this morning to change the delivery address on my order but it doesn't seem to have been actioned yet and if the GD80s are going out tomorrow I just want to make sure mine goes to work. Any chance u can chase this up please?

Cheers

Oh ****, I've ordered CAS9

I will give you guys the headsup in this thread of when to start do not worry. ;)

Incase people have missed it, some very decent memory for clocking i5 for cheap:

Geil Ultra Series 4GB (2x2GB) PC3-17000 2133MHz Dual Channel Kit for just £84.99 inc VAT.

Bit of a weird one spending more money on memory than a board but its a great kit for the price.

Surely Yewen would know what he's talking about

Did you go for 16000 (2000Mhz) C9 or 12800 (1600Mhz) C9? I went for the first one. If performance turns out to be pants then I will just run it at 12800 tighter at C8/C7. The price difference between that and 12800 C7 was only £3.45 so I get to try it both ways :)

Well, G.Skill have binned this particular run of RAM quite tight since they offer Ripjaw 12800 at C9, C8 and C7. However, that doesn't mean you won't be able to 12800 C8 from your C9. You just might have to give it an extra 0.02 to 0.04v or so over the default to get there.
