MSI to offer 55% launch-day discount on P55 motherboards

What about the Patriot G Series RAM? Is it strictly for AMD and you wont get those results on an P55 board? Just thinking 1600Mhz, 7-7-7-20 and just over £70 looks alright!

Not sure about them, I know some of the dual channel kits are 1.8 - 1.9 volts, so I'm presuming they'd be no good for core i5. I ordered some of the G-Skill ripjaw stuff as they've been tested on the P55 platform and more specifically the GD-80 and GD-65. I think you need to be looking for 1.65 volt kits.

Does anyone know if the GD65 or 80 have 775 mounting holes

The P55 (socket LGA1156) motherboards have the CPU cooler mounting holes in a different position to socket LGA775 and socket LGA1333, so you need to either buy a mounting kit for your existing cooler
or buy a new LGA1156 compatible cooler. Thermalright, Xigmatek, and Noctua are three companies doing mounting kits for socket LGA1156 motherboards. There may be others doing them soon
.

I was hoped the MSI would be good because it looked like they were trying to make a statement with it. It seems very well thought out. I generally buy Asus so I'm interested to see how the build quality and feel compares.

End of the day we all got cracking deals for 60 & 80 pounds and it was pretty good fun. Overclockers really looked after us.

got mine :D
