msi tomahawk b450 4x8 ram problem

yeah that is right ...
I'm confident you don't have B-Die, you more likely have Hynix, and that's the only time I've had issues with 4x8GB not getting the full speed.

Check on OCUK, they sell some nice Team Group 8Pack ram that's B-Die and far better quality than the Corsair :)

well thanks for the advice , i think i will retun it back this 2 sticks , or leave it like this running 2933 , mmm

I've never had an issue running 4 x 8GB sticks on multiple Ryzen and Threadripper systems, but I always made sure the RAM used Samsung B-Die chips, otherwise I had issues with the Corsair Hynix memory.

4 sticks on TR is the equivalent of 2 on the am4 platform (quad vs dual channel). If you wack 8 in there like me you will not be able to hit those sweet memory speeds. It says in my motherboard manual what speeds are supported on what memory configs and officially most boards will do 2133 with all 8 lanes populated. I can push mine to 2933 but no more. Thats running 3466 gskill bdie. :(

I can get it to boot at 3200 but im ramming masses of voltage through both the cpu, memory, load line etc It may be possible but for me on tr it was never click and forget with all lanes populated.
