Hello guys do you know if MSI warranty for gpus in UK is transferable as I would like to purchase gtx 1070 that was originally purchased August 2018? The guy is happy to show it working but wont assist in warranty claims if required.

Thanks in advance

Not many graphics card manufacturers do these days.

Even EVGA has tightened up it's warranty on second hand purchases. Though contrary to what I've seen some say on the forum, EVGA do "still" offer a warranty service on second hand purchases. You just need to provide proof of purchase from the reseller. This can be as simple as uploading a PAYPAL invoice when raising the warranty claim (and the warranty is from the date the product was shipped from EVGA and not when the original person bought the card). There's a thread on the EVGA forums about this if anyone is interested (https://forums.evga.com/Original-and-Secondhand-Warranty-FAQ-m2848860.aspx). Might help someone :)

The law in the EU (and will be so until it changes) is that any warranty agreement is between you (the buyer) and the company you bought it from. So if that is the seller's stance? avoid, IMO.

The warranty goes off the serial number which contains the ship date if you don’t have the receipt. You can find this info on the MSI website. There was a thread about it and someone went through the process on the forums.
