I have ordered my Z77-GD65 along with 8GB of Kingston HyperX. Very pleased with the price of it all. will update on performance when I pick up the 3570K

Sweet! I bought one, as I had the £25 cashback offer too. I got it yesterday

Hi, could one of you that has bought a Z77A-GD65 please confirm whether the Bios includes the option to enable Intel Smart Connect & Rapid Start please? I have looked through the specs on MSI's website and the corresponding product manual but cannot find mention of it.

Also, does anyone know if this board (Z77A-GD65) has any LAN optimization software? MSI website has a utility to download (Network Genie) but states it is for a mainboard with a Realtek Lan chip. The specification of this board states it has a Lan chip by Intel (82579V) so am not sure whether Network Genie still works with this or whether there's an alternative?

I received my one of these in the past week, got it working nicely with the latest 'BIOS' (does this term apply any more now that it uses UEFI?!). Currently with a 2500k at 4.5GHz without much trouble.

I couldn't work out how to set a UEFI boot option as the default system boot; I could only select it in the boot menu. Hopefully this will be fixed soon..

@TRS, have you a chance to see if Network Genie works with this board as it has an Intel Lan chip. Just wondered if there are any network traffic management options so that certain types of traffic can be given a higher priority please?

I installed it to see for you, doesn't look good I'm afraid:

but it seems you can limit an applications connection a bit if it worked

Thanks beejjacobs, tech fail for msi in that case as it's on the download page for this mobo. Don't suppose the intel driver has any similar settings in windows?

Seems to just be a driver, can't see any advanced features!

Yeah, it does say on the download page that is requires a Realtek adaptor - I guess its the same download page for all their motherboards?

I wondered that too but just checked a few boards across z68 as there are more and the utility page differs between them so it is intended to be a board specific list, must just be an oversight. Will check with them in case there is a different version for this board and they just put the wrong link on that page.
