I plugged my 2gig usb drive in and it comes up as ‘write protected’ I can’t delete or move stuff around, it comes up with please remove the protection.
I don’t seem to have any switches on the drive and it worked fine yesterday, any ideas?

If you can see the drive in My Computer write click on it and remove any security attributes and tick the read, write and execute attributes.

i'm not getting that option when i right click

Sorry, I mean click on properties and then find any security attributes and correct them to at least read, write and execute. When I get home and you still need help I can provide a screen dump?

This really has me stumped.

I will look at my memory stick when I get home again tonight and see if there are any ways around it.

Anyone else got any ideas??

Had a bit of a Google, and from what I can make of the results, it would seem your USB drive is up the spout. :(

Sorry.

noooooooooooooooooo! i have had this bad boy for 18months it's a 2gig and cost like £80 (i know times have changed) :D - but it's soooooooo damn quick!

I looked at my drives when they where plugged in just now and there isn't any access writes there. I looked at google etc and got the same result as what 'basmic' came up with.

This could have been caused by dropping it or something similar.
