Mugen Civic Type RR

yea i like it.

they did a shootout in top gear t'other month which had cars like the focus, civic type r etc. the type r was the slowest in terms of in gear, 0-60 etc, but stig said it would be the one he drove home.

with an extra 40 ponies and the likeliness of the responsiveness of the engine it would probably be as quick but with the better handling etc! win!

They're still using the K20(a) lump though? I can't help but feel it won't be as fun in that chassis compared to the EP3.
.

For a start its got a diff. Its lighter and stiffer than the EP3 and looks better.

FD2 > EP3 let alone a Mugen FD2.

I want one badly, the extra doors are actually a bonus for a family man like me :p

They would do as there isn't really any other alternative. Mugen usually only use existing Honda engines/cars and tweak them. The K20 is the only performance VTEC engine in production at the moment aside from the F20 in the S2000, and porting a FR drivetrain into the FD2 chassis would be a some job (albeit incredibly cool), especially if you are planning to put the car into a production run and considering the setup costs involved aside from the conversion.

Same applies to the now defunct NSX engine, would be a job and a half and would be VERY perculiar changing the drivetrain to MR in a chassis of that nature!

Cant wait to see what this new NSX will be like, an alleged 500bhp V10 VTEC lump.

So, as its VTEC that 500bhp should equate to roughly 125lb/ft of torque.

Given that: HP=Torque x (5252/RPM)

RPM = BHP x (5252/Torque)

= 500 x (5252/125)

= 21008 RPM. Sweet.

I'm such a gob **** sometimes.

Along with the ST might i add, they both felt most natural.

The thing i like about the 5 door, is that it doesnt look that over the top compared to the 3 door, which just looks wrong. Its a car i would be happy to own and drive, unlike the 3 door or the scooby etc.
