I have set the BB Code to a generic "*" icon.

Is there a way of saving the favicon and using it for another link.

What browser are you using? Can't tell from the screenshot.

If it's Firefox it looks like you can change it with an extension, e.g. https://sites.google.com/site/sonthakit/bookmarkfaviconchanger and I'm sure there's similar for Chrome.

I don't think I can do it at the code level so it's up to extensions .
