Multi-quoting

I am testing this today. Please let me know your thoughts on it, there is likely to be a trial period where if it isn't abused we'll look to keep it if feedback is favourable.

I think multi quoting would be good as long as it isn't overused/abused. Looking forward to being able to use it in the trial period :)

this is really handy. will save a lot of time. thanks gilly.

I like multi-quote, though I tend to not use it much in general forum usage. My personal view on the buttons is to make it obvious you've selected the option (I'm not sure the +/- ones stand out enough, but as a preference if we go with those then please just use a +, or better yet, a check mark - the '-' buttons don't make a lot of sense to me).

The reason why I think they need to stand out - it's easy to lose track of what you've selected.

PS - one for the uninitiated multi-quoters - you can even multi-quote three posts on three different pages of a thread. Clever eh? :)

Yeah but come on think about it realistically. Just about no one I know signs up to a forum and the very first thing they do is read the FAQ.

I did, but you don't know me.

I agree with this guy, a button that changes colour would be better.

Works a treat thanks

this button would be better though especially if you're set to 80 posts per page and need to scroll back to find posts you have selected for multi-quote

Text needs recolouring mind you

@ platinum87: Press Ctrl+F5.

They really don't need to be that visible when activated, as you can see who you're quoting when you construct your reply, and can remove them there if you change your mind.

Just need to change to let you know by looking weather a single post is on or off the list, did I press that once or twice, hmmm?

The new button looks swish now.

Can't believe it wasn't implemented before. Thanks Gilly

snip... Press Ctrl+F5.

Doh I did wonder why they were still the previous icons for me as well  @me

I assume from lack of comment that these are acceptable?

Yup looks much better, thank god for not going to nested quotes as they're horrible.

The multiquotes break Firefox 3 Beta 5 running under Ubuntu however (Doesn't appear in the quickreply but does when you hit the 'New post' button) Probably FF rather than the code.

Yeah, a colour change to clearly indicate the multi quote would be very handy.

Brilliant addition, will save me a lot of time and hopefully will stop people from doing a string of posts one after another on the same thread.
