i fancy playing a decent FPS but i cant seem to get in to any lately.

TF2

(bit bored of PS2) are these work a try again or are they dead now?

or others i should try

Left 4 Dead 2 is cheap as hell and a real good laugh. I still love it!

Depends on what you define as 'decent'. I personally can't stand BF3 and haven't touched it for a year, they ruined it with some silly patches early on in my opinion.

TF2 is a good FPS, but different to almost everything else on the market, I couldn't get to grips with it but I do see the fun side appeal to it!

I'm personally playing nothing but ArmA II at the moment, with all sorts of varieties of mods and mission files; it's such a versatile game!

There's always the latest Call of Shooty rubbish as well...

I'm not that big on multipler FPS, but when I did play Left 4 Dead 2 it was good fun, so I'd back ManCuBuS on that suggestion.
With the very recent addition of the Steam Workshop to the game, there should be plenty to try out.

I just started playing red orchestra 2 again; pretty fun team FPS - pretty cheap on steam also.

more of a tactical run and gun using more realistic fighting.

Natural Selection 2 is good fun if you want something a bit different! Combines some RTS with FPS!

I've just started playing GTA4 multiplayer and whilst its not FPS you can get an FPS addon

Team deathmatch and turf war is so much fun. 4 person SUV drive-by on another team is a win (unless one of their players has a rocket launcher, which they did)

+1 for NS2, I'm surprised more people on this forum don't play it. I've put 60 hours into this game since christmas and still loving it.

The last time I played GTA4 (a couple of years ago) there were no players left. What brought them back?

You keep saying that but I'm pretty sure it isn't. Personally I don't think it's worth getting into cod4 now, unless you have a group of friends you can mix with.

I didn't reply to this thread yesterday because I always give the same response as well, which is Quake Live as above, or BC2 for a much less challenging experience which is still a good game.

Your major problem seems to be that none of those games you've listed are even close to being 'decent'
