There's a bloke at work who's into rc stuff, mainly cars, so I took my 250 in to show him. After a bit of hovering and gentle flying I gave him the controls. He started off ok then lost it. The quad zoomed up and into the side of the warehouse landing on a canopy. After the use of a fork lift to get the quad back the only damage was 4 broken props. Another couple of feet and it would have been lost on the roof.

These little things are quite strong for the size!!
 
I've replaced the power wires on my ESCs because I cut them down for one application, then they were too short for the next :p If replacing wires, the silicon Turnigy stuff is great from HK. You can get silicon wire from other sources too, it's much better than normal plastic sheathed stuff from a usability standpoint.
 
Right, first issue. I can't upload any code to my FC. It's a HK AIO board based on the Crius one. It comes with MultiWii on it but an early version. I'm trying to put either a new version of MultiWii or Megapirate on it but I can't get anything to take.

The device works as I can connect to it with the MultiWii GUI and change setting etc.

So, I follow the guide to uploading new code with Arduino but I keep getting the error "Timeout communicating with programmer". Correct COM port is set (the same port that works with the MultiWii GUI), correct jar file applied, correct board version set.

So, I thought I'd give it a shot on my mac to eliminate my PC as the issue. Same problem.

Any ideas?
 
Did they come in a FPV250 kit? You shout have 16 m2 screws and washers. The x mounts are not used with this frame, motors bolt right on
 
Screws that come with the motors are too short for the frame. Either purchase some longer M2 bolts (16mm) or attach the motors to the X mounts, then cable tie the mounts to the frame.
 
Yep everything in the photo came with the motors, the ones that came with the frame were m3 6mm.

Not that I'm going to use them, but what I don't understand is you can only use two of the bolts shown in the image, as when you look at the X it only has two hole small enough not four.
 
HK stock is annoyingly low, and I'm reluctant to go elsewhere and spend twice as much :(

I think I'm just going to have to wait it out.
 
I had no idea this thread existed until now. I've ordered a DJI phantom 2 vision+ which is on it's way. It was shipped from China, rather than a local retailer annoyingly, so all I know at the moment is it left Hong Kong at 10am after it's trip from China. I'm assuming it'll go to Dubai, Germany then Liverpool so god knows when it'll get here :D

I looked around at various sites and reviews and despite the propriety batteries,it was just easier to get this than other things and upgrade them as I'm new to this shenanigans :D
 
I am having the same issue with my motors and the alien 560. The cross plate that come with the motor doesn't line up with the holes on the rotor plates on the frame. Are tie wraps secure enough?
 
The smallest tie wraps are secure on a 250, I fly with them exclusively on my 250 but with RCX motors where they thread through the bottom (have a look some pages behind for my picture links there should be one of the ziptie on the motors.

The 560 is a bigger machine though so I couldn't vouch for it.
