Multirotor, multicopter and quadcopter discussion - The Drone thread

Put 4 batteries through the Tri yesterday.. spent all of them battling the wind :D

Still need to tune this KK though, it tends to wobble like hell on full power!

Due to all the wind the tail "rotor" servo has come loose. Luckily i was only a few metres off the ground and on the last battery! Wouldn't have been anything catastrophic though. I'm putting this down to the sheer amount of hard work the tail had to do battling the wind!

Terrible jelo effect from the GoPro footage too :(

To do:
Fix the tail servo down securely.
Get my head around KK tuning
Eliminate the video wobble

Nice :) yeh it has been a bit windy! Good to see it up in the air though

That looks like a good place to fly ;)

Video wobble I find rubber mounts on a platform and some spongy foam type stuff gets most of it out. Although I have a Möbius not a go pro

It's a great place to fly (soft landings for fixed wing and quads and the like if things go wrong!) but it needs to be a calm day do be really any use.

Quite gusty up there yesterday!

Same principle I suppose whatever the device.. I'll have to have a look what I have, got plenty of foam but the only rubber I have is inner tubes! Hmm...

Is this on top of caerphilly mountain or something ? Anything that will absorb really.

My 250 has rubber feet type mounts which sit under the camera platform, then in use spongy foam under the mobius

Not flown it yet tho.

Ive got myself a HobbyKing H600 Frame at the moment ive got installed the following

Budget 2 axis gimbal
SJ4000 Camera
500mw TX
APM 2.7
ZIPPY Compact 4000mAh 4s 60c
30Amp ESC
12x4.5 Prop
Turnigy Aerodrive SK3 - 2830-1130kv
Weight with battery is 2200G

i know the motors cant handle this as they are over heating need to get another set for this frame but dont know what to go for ?

Want to try and get the longest flight time possible

bwahahaah, well deserved

As far as I can see he managed to pull the Inspire out of air while manually moving camera and props hit him on way down

On 12" props and 4s you will probably want something around 600-700kv.

Armatten Morphite built. I've tried to keep it as tidy as possible. It's missing the receiver at the moment as D4R-IIs were on backorder. It shipped today though.

So, full specs:

Armatten Morphite 180mm carbon frame
Favourite Quattro 4 x 6A ESC with blheli firmware
DYS BE1305 3100kV motors
4x4.5 props
Naze32 FC
D4R-II rx
Micro FPV vTx
950mAh 3S Nano-tech battery

It weighs in at 282g with battery

Looking cool :) bet they fly brilliant!

I wouldn't leave the antenna and vtx like that though. That's got broken vtx written all over it

Won't take a lot to snap that rp-sma connector

Did you solder the escs to motors?

Its hard to judge how much room you have

Iv bought a 5cm pigtail with bulkhead for my 250 setup.

Does that vtx fit inside the frame ? Would you getaway with a small pigtail ?

I ordered mine yesterday from banggood for £2ish free delivery although ships from China. Don't mind waiting a bit longer.

http://www.banggood.com/5cm-RP-SMA-Male-to-RP-SMA-Female-Right-Angle-Cable-p-956188.html

Most UK stock get the from China, but a lot of them are longer or more expensive , great for 250 but not sure what it would be like on the smaller one

If not try and mount it somewhere where the vtx is out the way a bit and you can strap the antenna in place so if you have a knock the antenna takes the force not the vtx connector

man I'm on a bad luck streak... Quad is super well tuned, flying perfectly on 4s & gemfans 5x45 with the SunnySkys, doing 3x rolls with very little loss in altitude, front and backflips no problems.. but...

I've got power loss issues, convinced it's the crappy orange Rx that I had to trim the antenna after it broke. Crash took a brand new spironet, luckyly this time the pigtail saved the VTx but the antenna vanished and the mobius seems up the ghost too... (my second one...) GRRRRRRRRRRR. To add insult to injury they removed all the goal posts from the field I was flying at so now I have a massive but empty field....
