Mum fainted.

My mum fainted while she was watching the tubes in my chest get pulled out. We were in a hospital and the Doctor went and grabbed her before she landed on the floor. But yeah having tubes pulled out of you and watching your mums eyes roll back in her head was pretty scary.

I once fainted on a flight to the Canary islands, was on my way to the toilets to splash water on my face, as I often get light headed and this helps for me a lot. Got halfway down the plane and my vision went. Apparently i stumbled to the front of the plane, muttered something about not feeling to well and collapsed.

Unfortunately some bright spark had left a metal bucket near where the flight attendants sit, which my head dutifully made contact with, causing a not insignificant head laceration with lots of bleeding (causing panic amongst the front row of passengers lol). Plane had to be diverted to Lisbon so I could go to hospital for head glue and CT :D

uh-huh. so if a close family member of yours appeared to be gravely ill you wouldn't bat an eyelid? you sound like a right plank.

Really? If I had to break into the bathroom after my mother dissapeared for over an hour in there with no response, to find that she was in a heap on the floor, the first thing i'd be doing is checking for breathing and a pulse, rather than running away and crying. This seems like an altogether more logical thing to be doing. And don't think I don't know a thing or two about having an ill mother, mine suffers badly from Multiple Sclerosis and related ailments. These sometimes include total loss of balance, sense of taste/smell, vision, none of which are particularly good fun.

hence you are used to it the OP clearly isnt used to this sort of thing happening, and people react differently in a crisis. Ive run training courses for st johns ambulance and someone running away crying but still calling 999 is a lot better then some other responses that could happen.:D

almost fainted on saturday night for some reason. She was sick then nearly fell over.

don't mean to be insensitive, but this happens to a lot of people on saturdays :p

to the OP, hope your mum is ok now, I saw my mum faint once, worst moment of my life..
