Murray in Form

You've gotta think with a little bit of luck and a lot of continued hard work AM is gonna win a slam in the near future, fair enough Nadal wasn't at 100% but Murray wasn't either. The future is bright for tennis and Andy Murray

Well done Murray. Let's hope he can do equally well at Wimbledon and Roland Gaross. He seems to be doing well in smaller tournaments, just not the ones that really matter.

i know what you mean, but he is beating the big guns at the smaller tournaments, just needs to step it up a little in the big comps.

The only reason he is beating Fed and Nadal is because they put so much into the bigger tournaments where it really counts, and you can't expect Nadal to play as good as he can after that epic Aussie final. And as for beating Federer, the great man got it right when he said a slam is a 'different animal', in all honesty I can't see Murray winning a slam this year.

Realistically, the US open is his last chance this year to win a slam.

Nobody can touch Nadal if he stays fit at the French open, Wimbledon and grass isn't his favourite surface, leaving the US open as his best chance.

complete **** if you ask me - of course AM has a good chance - He has beaten Nadal the last three times they played (and believe me that WILL pray on Nadal's mind the next time they play no matter where it is) and he has beaten Fed about 5 times in succession

Im not saying either is going to be a walk in the park - it will still be very close, but it is entirely possible where-ever they meet up

I would agree that AM's best chance would be a hard court - but its not like he is a bad player on grass either

It comes down to a good night's sleep (or not) before the game - illness /injury etc and recent games in that tournement and against that particular other player

It's not complete crap though, it's being realistic.

I still think he needs this year to gain more experience, physical and mental toughness before winning a slam. I would be delighted though if he did win one this year.

Nadal will win the French open whilst there is the humungous task of beating Federer or Nadal at Wimbledon. The U.S. open, his favourite slam is his best hope this year.

Bringing this thread back from the dead to note that Mr Murray is through to the quarter-finals in Dubai to face Richard Gasquet after a straights set win over Arnaud Clement. Hopefully his ankle will hold up as for the previous round to this he looked to be in a bit of trouble before his opponent retired.

He had to withdraw due to a virus.

Murray is another henman, a nearly man.

He will never ever win a slam.

For never ever ?

Murray is in a different league to Henamn and will prove this by winning a slam/s.

Getting silly now!

Poor Roger :(

Not that i don't want Murray to win but Federer has got to be my number 1 sporting hero.

Admire the way he beat everyone for years with shear technique.

4 games in a row now. Would love to see the outcome of a Grand Slam meeting between the pair when both are fresh and on top form. Federer would rightfully be the favourite but Murray has something over him.

actually 5 I believe - with one being a "non - competetive" pre-season event :)

Looking forward to the final against Nadal.

On Nadal's 'official' website, it says he will play against England's ... Andy Murray... double 0-o

Andy won't be very happy if he hears this. :D

Of course Nadal is directly responsible for the editing of his site

So Nadal has an idiot in his employment (which he probably doesnt even know) not really going to count for much

Should hopefully be a good final - even if AM is still suffering slightly

I wasn't directly saying it was Nadal's fault.

My point was we all know how touchy Andy get's when people call him English.

I think this will be a three set match and I will go for Andy to win. :)

EDIT ...

They are now saying Scotland's Andy Murray.

Andy must have had a word ^^
