Murray out of US Open

Very surprised Nadal made it through to the final but if he wins there'll be no doubt who's the best player in the world. The man's phenomenal when fit and I hope he wins.

Brilliant tennis from both players and good on Djokovic for levelling the match. I hope he's able to keep this up.

On an aside, it's great to see so many battling rallies in men's tennis these days compared to the style of play a few years back.
 
Congrats to Rafa; unbelievable performance. He was just far too strong for the Djokovic who, to his credit, played fantastic tennis just to do as well as he did. The way Nadal played would have broken most players but Novak showed big balls. Great match.
 
As said above, that's a career slam for Nadal. He's 24. Unless somebody new comes in or steps up, Nadal's got a clean sweep for everything once Federer retires. Presuming of course his own knees don't pack in first.. :p
 
They're going to need to make a big step up. Not only has Nadal been in a different league to the likes of Murray and Djokovic this year but he's getting better and better.

It wasn't that long ago that his serve was a weakness yet he only dropped his serve twice on his way to the final and was serving ~10mph faster than he was at last years US Open.

As it is, only Federer is good enough to compete with Nadal at his best and it appears as if he's losing his consistency.
