Love them.

I was actually going to make a similar thread. It appears Nix is eating tinned, yes, tinned mushrooms. What the hell is going on there? Nix, you skank!

Was eating tinned mushrooms. I had no fresh! Besides, they were kind of lost in between the slodge of a meal I produced. Om nom. :p

Mushrooms are yum. The only time I don't like them is when they taste funny after they've been processed in those savory slice things.

once I made some vegetarian 'snails', by snapping off some long mushroom stems, stuffed them into empty snail shells and sealed them with garlic butter. It didn't taste any different to regular snails tbh

+1 for cooked - and absolutely essential in a good fry up, even if it's grilled really.

One to impress the ladies in your lives...ideally use as many wild mushrooms as you can with button mushrooms for a little bulk - add dried too if you can - soak in hot water as per normal use - cut them into bite sized pieces and add to a pan with either double cream (unhealthy but yummy) or half fat creme fraiche (nearly as yummy) - heat gently to cook mushrooms, add pepper and nutneg, once cooked put in a pie dish and cover with shop bought puff pastry (almost no one makes it for themselves) and bake in the oven until the pastry is done - serve with green veg and saute potatoes - easy dish, little effort and always impresses.
 
I like the large mushrooms as a starter.

Remove the stalks and grill the caps for a few minutes, turn over, season and add chopped garlic, tomato and chilli with a drizzle of olive oil. Back under the grill for a few minutes and then fill with grated strong cheddar and parmesan. Melt the cheese and they're done.

Very much love. If I can find an excuse to have Mushrooms everyday, I will :p

Not too keen on them raw though, that's a little wrong.

Fried in lots of butter with garlic sitting next to a freshly fried steak still "mooing", heaven!
