Must stop buying take out food....

i'm in a similar position. At univeristy we have takeaway about 3 or 4 times a week. We're on first name terms with the guy at the local indian takeaway, which is quite worrying especially when he recognises are number when we call up.

I'm trying to cut down, as i just feel much better when i eat proper meals, as opposed to some of the rubbish from takeaway places.

i used to have a chippy every lunch and a takeaway nearly every teas time. Put on around 5 stone in a very little ammount of time (about 6 months), took me over 2 years to loose it again.

Luckily for me the place closed down :D , other wise i don't know how i would have stopped

(was Cooks Cabin on Scotia Road, Tunstall incase anyone wants to know)

you've got be tough on yourself, I gave up all fast food last September and I honestly feel a lot better for it. I had a bottomless pit of a stomach and would feel hungry after eating KFC, McDonalds, etc. But you have to discipline yourself, drink more water which will help to curb some hunger and start eating fruit, nuts, vegetables, yogurts as snacks. Sandwiches are a good alternative for lunch instead of KFC or whatever, just be careful what you fill the sandwich with, sometimes you can go overboard and have more calories in 1 sandwich than an entire KFC or McDonalds meal.

Like you I was thin when eating this junk food but it soon crept up on me and I put on 2 stone. At first I thought that I had just put a few pounds on but when I weighed myself I had put on 28lbs!! The good thing is that you want to change your diet although it could prove quite hard since the people you live with won't be changing with you. So when you're eating you're healthy alternative food, they'll be eating KFC chicken in front of you. Good luck mate. ;)

Keep your fridge and cupboard well stocked up... :)

Chicken fillets, salmon, steak... You can really eat well for a tenner if you cook the meal yourself. :o

Ah no, we are going to do this together. We are going to cut out all the junk, starting tomorrow (she doesn’t know yet, but she soon will) we are having breakfast, a healthy breakfast of cereal and semi skimmed milk, with orange juice.

Then ham salad or something in the sandwiches and yoghurts for pack up, and then our normal cooked meal at night.

This is it, no more take aways, no more Mc Donald’s when walking around town, no more KFC. This is going to catch up on me, I can feel it. I’m always hungry, so tonight I’ll drop off at the supermarket, and this weekends £20 on junk is being spent on fruit and healthy eating…

Wish me luck all..

the only things i can think of are:
1. get rid of credit card/switch/etc cards only have cheque cards (then every month take out money that you need ie bills etc
2. watch diet programs on tv (theres a good one on ch5 on thursday, they even show what happens to your body by using animal body, and have a fit person do uhealthy things and the effect it has on him)
3. stock your fridge with healthy stuff, and whenever you are hungry just eat healthy stuff instead of an unhealthy one.
4.do it together, have a group for motivation or whatever
5. learn to cook meals that way you will appreciate how they are made..

PS> i wish i was like you eating all you can and still be skinny!! :( but that itself isnt agood thing either.

Erm.. I'll let you know tomorrow if I'm still alive after I come home with Healthy food instead of crisps and choccy bars.. :D

No really, this has been a long time coming, we discussed it last night. We know it's wrong, I think it's all because we don't really drink a lot and don't smoke so just eat to feel happy. I mean, a meaty pizza with double cheese don't half taste nice.. And then Tesco finest cheese cake right afterwards, followed by a bag of bacon rashers when watching a DVD isn't a good idea really..

Not to mention the 2 ltr bottle of coke we drink between us.. But we are both so thin.. How I don't know..

Three of my wife's friends came over for supper a couple weeks ago and my wife and I were sitting there jaws on the floor as the 3 girls spent around 30min talking about all the restaurants and take out's (yes, take outs as they go to the restaurant, buy the food and take it out!) they eat.

It took a tremendous amount of willpower not to shout at these girls "And you wonder why you’re single? You stupid fat bitches lay off the crap, fools!" :D

Fast food is only there to make you get hooked on it, so the fat cat directors see that they ahave a huge ass profit, and can buy a few more Bentley's...

Think of it that way ;)

Gandhi fasted to stop the jews fighting the turks in India. Maybe you could pick a cause and do the same.

Just coz you're thin, it don't mean you're healthy.

If you run out of money, you can't get take out.
