MX-5 help & advice

Just a bit . It was certainly hidden well but I think last winter with the heavy snow was the last straw. After the arches are repaired she's going in for respray and the alloy wheels to be refurbished :).

Youve seen it more than me, I miss my rust bucket :(. If you look at the MX-5 Restorer thread on MX5Nutz you'll see how well the arches were repaired previously [/sarcasm]

I bumped into Garath last Thursday at Thorpe Park, top block . He said the drivers side was finished. Where was he up to when you saw it?

He'd started to cut down the passenger side, it certainly wasn't pretty! Looked to be top top notch solid work though :) The passenger side was possibly worse than the driver's!

For any one who's interested my MX-5 is finished and is ready for collection this Saturday. I can't wait to have it back. Here are some pics of the work done:

The alloys have been refurbished as well but I haven't got any images. Before collection it's being machine waxed, can't wait for Saturday .

Definitely get some pics of your own up. It'll be better-than-new condition!

must have cost a pretty penny for all of the work!

Blimey, you paid top dollar for it last year, you would have thought you wouldnt have had to do this much to it.

Atleast you can rest assured that its been done properly now and you can look after it properly.

Looking at this car is why i would rather buy a rust bucket and get the work done myself, than buy a 'minter' for top dollar :(

I won't say how much but it's not a small sum! Ill post some pictures when she's back.

I didnt pay top dollar really, £1850 isn't bad for a good conditio Berkeley which commands a premium. Technically I didn't have to pay for a respray but if Im having the arches replaced I might as well have the alloys and paintwork looking spot on.

The only annoying thing is this previous bodge repair of the arches! It hide the rust which allowed to get how it was. I can rest assured it's ok now.

I'd still say £1850 is the top end of the market for a MK1, assuming you plan to keep it for a while then i guess its prob going to appreciate in value, being a special ed

Wow, what a job! That looks awesome!

Still undecided on the flock, I can imagine fluff/dirt all getting stuck to it? Am I right in thinking the fog light can be incorporated into the rear lights some how? I think that may improve appearance of the rear end.
