So are these any good?

I have just ordered one, and never used a gaming mouse before, always had a £4 jobbie

Will I enjoy it more?

Fantastic mouse, had mine for nearly a year and loved it-bought a Habu to replace it though soon I regretted it.

Trust me you won't be disappointed ;)

I had the 518 for a good couple of years, excellent mouse. Might take you a little while to adjust to the shape, after that you'll never look back.

Judging my brothers MX500 (older version), yes it's an excellent mouse. Thinking of getting the G5 myself which is the higher up laser mouse version :)

As said above it might take you a while to adjust to the shape if you haven't had a hand-shaped mouse before, it might make your hand ache quite badly after a few hours of use, but your hand will adjust :)

It's my current mouse, I Love it as much as my MX510 that I keep upstairs for posterity :D

I had the MX510 and I loved it but I had the left click problem so I decided to buy a Razer Deathadder.
But in general the MX510 was great and I've tried the MX518 and it felt similar and really lovely for gaming, sits in my hands perfectly. :)

I've got a blue MX510, amazing mouse, the logitec logo is practically worn off and it is just clearly well used! Really comfortable, and couldnt imagine web browsing where i had to use the mouse pointer for going back and forward between pages!

Im building up a new system, couldn't find the MX510 anywhere, so i've got a nice new MX518 sitting ready to be used :)

The only one thing I don't like so much about the 518 is the colour, but hardly a major problem!

Had my MX518 since they came out, love it.

I usually replace my mouse every year or so but the MX518 seems to be the last one they made before they started removing buttons, and I use all mine.

I used to have the MX510 and absolutely loved it :)

I've since bought an MX1000 which I've had for over a year now and it's equally as good.

The MX510 has since found it's way to my office and I use it at work.

The MX series are brilliant, takes a few goes to get used to the chunkiness when compared to a cheapo standard mouse but once you do get used to it (and the fact that it moulds to your hand so brilliantly well) you'll love it!

Enjoy your purchase :)

Get G5 one if you got the money. You wont regret it for sure. Best mouse i've ever had (and i tried all the razors and other stuff).
It's not only that its precise as hell but you can adjust the weight, its very comfortable, the shape is just perfect and you get the programable keys which is just a must for gaming.

MX518 - 100% BRILLIANT mouse!

Had mine (same one) for over 2 years, and not regretted it once! It's got perfect precision, comfort, weight, etc. and has very good build quality. The software is okay too, and allows you to customise your buttons for various actions (including in-game binds/keys).

I bought a MX Revolution (wireless one) for general use (not gaming), but it's just sitting on my desk gathering dust, as the MX518 is better for general use too! Way more comfortable, and doesn't feel as plasticcy*, light or as shaky as other mice.

I've noticed on ebay that there is a newer 1800dpi version of the MX518. The normal(older) one is 1600dpi I think.

Just ordered a Habu from America, only 25 pounds incl. shipping.. If I don't like it I'll be getting this MX518 aswell, lots of pleased people it seems!
Also, mine, and the Razer Copperhead mouses of three friends have all broken down at the cord... I think that's pretty bad work from Razer:S I still have a MX300 which is years old and functions perfectly. It has had way more strain then the Razer... :(

By the way if you're interested in a wireless alternative, the Logitech G7 is supposed to be amazing! Even for gaming. It's available in carbon fiber black now too! :) A bit pricy at average price £60+
