My 360 Controller has Broken!

This afternoon I came to have a go on PD0 and pressed the guide button as I always do to switch on the console and joypad. The joypad powered on but no 360 console. I noticed that all of the quadrants on the joypad are blinking randomly. This just continued so tried to switch the controller off but nothing. I removed the battery pack and replaced the batteries with fresh ones and tried again still nothing. After that I powered up the console but the quadrant on the console just span and the joypad still didn’t connect. I then tried the process for connecting another wireless pad to no avail. In the time since I was playing last to now nothing has been changed... Any ideas?

Phone up support, my headset broke on wednesday night. I phoned them at 9pm. New one was with me this morning before I'd even sent the old one back.

Top service.

I lost the will to live at the first set of "..." :(

You've got to sort your grammar out buddy.

Then people may read it and help out, they may at least have half a clue as to what you're talking about!

Edited!

Christ anyone would have thought I we were back in school!

Agreed I hate it when people are so self righteous. So your grammar wasnt the best. Doesn't make you stupid, you may indeed be smarter, make more money, bang more girls and be in general a much nicer person to be around.

Myself I'd rather help where possible, rather than pour scorn.

I was merely trying to suggest rewording it....

ie help yourself and others will help.

30 people had read it without replying before I replied, so therefore they obviously felt the same.

As Danny mentioned, my first port of call would be M$ support, after all your testing I've think you've got it covered.

To be fair, a well thought-out post usually gets more responses and higher quality responses. Would you rather read:

omfg th13 a4az1n6 t41n6 h4993n3d lol wtf my c04tr0113r b04k36 lol wtf lol?

or

My controller broke last night, I would really appreciate it if you guys had any ideas?

I know this is taking it to the extreme, but personally if more than two sentences end with 'lol', or there is excessive 'l33t sp34k' I just leave the thread.

As for the problem, MS tech support I'm afraid.

CocoPops: Its 'MS' not 'M$' ;)

Fair points, I just think sometimes people sound like they want to pee all over someones intelligence when maybe they just cannot spell too well. Not everyone is as gifted.

I apologise if that wasn't your intention.

How about trying to help with the original question rather than going OT from the start guys? :)

Are you saying you cant get any pad to connect to the console?

I would try leaving the batteries out of the pad overnight (or an hour or so at the very least) and also unplugging the console from the mains.

If it still dosnt work after that, and you are sure you are pairing the pad to the console correctly, then see if you can get hold of another pad to try it out.

Well this is getting very weird! I just thought i would give it another try and it worked. I switched the console on first, then the pad and the quadrant lit up straight away. But then after having it running for a short while the pad has gone back into blinking mode and the quadrant on the console is blinking rapidly!

And now the console hasn’t powered off completely! The drive has span down, as well as the fans but the power light is still on and the quadrant is merrily blinking away!

I'm with CocoPops, because you're over the Internet doesn't mean you should let your grammar, spelling and phrasing go South. If I can't understand the post I don't go out of my way to decipher it, I will ignore it and move on (as I did when I first read it).

Good! Please ignore the post and go away! If you cant be helpfull and all you have to moan about is the state of someones grammar then you are a very sad individual indeed! I am getting sick of idiots like you that just feel the need to spam threads and not have any actual input!

I'm one of the most helpful people here I feel, No one is more helpful than DaveyD though.

I am hardly spamming a thread, infact, as stated before hand, I didn't post in it. I only posted in it when you defended yourself!? How you can I don't know, you ask a question and no one understands it apart from Da_Mic and I told him the exact same thing, he's a 100 times better than he was.

The state of this country is going downhill all the time, really annoys me.

Anyway, send the controller back, try a plug and play kit, if it doesn't work it could be the consoles wireless sensor, not necessarily the pad. Ask Microsoft, chances are it's happened before and they'll have it on a cheat sheet.

Doubt a plug + play kit will do any good, unless it's a batter pack issue of the controller. All the play and charge kit does it charge the batteries, the controller still uses all the wireless stuff when charging.

It's also worth having a try on another 360 console, if you have any mates nearby that have one anyway, but that's never always going to be an option.

Though grammar is quite important, I'd much prefer a thread to have bad grammar but correct construction of sentences, but that's me. As NokkonWud, CocoPops and others have said, if you've got a poorly constructed thread to begin with, people will look at it and not bother reading then hit the back button.. I know I do.

But anyway, come on guys, we're not in General Discussion, that's where all the grammar arguments are usually, it's natural for bad grammar in a PC Gaming forum :).

@ NokkonWud, I only found this thread because you'd said my name, so thanks for the praise :p

Thats what I was trying to get at :). I know several people have had problems regarding packs, but it's more a shot in the dark than anything else.

heh :D

I think my housemates 360 controller had a bit of an issue turning itself off, but it might also be the one I bought... so I'll just make sure I take home the working one when I move out :p (He has stolen it and took it home, although I can't actually use it anyway, and I hardly play the 360... but you know :p)

does the 360 still use wireless when using the play and charge kit?? cos i know u can use it as a controller with the PC, so i assumed the date would just go through the cable.
And i am confused how it could be a battery issue since the wireless controller comes on
and everybody getting on about the grammar, most of you didnt even see it, yet are jumping on a comment cocopops made, maybe he just found it difficult, maybe he is over critical of grammar, i honestly dont know cos i didnt the the unedited post. So i think everybody needs to chill tbh
