Well I'm aiming for a 5090 but that will depend on Nvidia's pricing. If not a 5090 then maybe a 5080 or I might just wait until the 5090 drops in price.
how big of a difference are you noticing between this and your old build? The GPU has stayed the same so im curious how much of an improvement everything else is!

As I said above for gaming it's mostly 1% lows, but in terms of general snapiness the system is back to being lightning quick as one would expect. (Even though I've technically stepped down in core count my video rendering is a lot quicker as well due to the sheer age of my old CPU)
....and yeah, in terms of gaming the GPU is where I am expecting to see the most gains. I've stuck with 1440p for a long time, but I'm tempted to move up to 4k if I can snag a 5090.

Nice build! How are you finding the Asrock X870E Taichi motherboard? I have an MSI X670E Tomahawk, but if i was to upgrade, the Asrock X870E Taichi Lite is very appealing.

Yeah great so far. BIOS took a little getting used to coming from ASUS but once I got used to it, it's easy. In terms of the hardware obviously it's a fantastic board and I'd imagine the Lite will be the same from all the reviews I saw before I bought mine, so I don't think you could go wrong with one if that's what you end up going for!

Thanks for responding. It seems Asrock have done really well with AM5. Their B650(E) and X670(E) boards were some of the best, and I suspect that has carried through to the latest generation of boards.
