by any chance was it the hot water tap that turned on as you turned the bath tap off?

turn on your bath tap to full.... then turn on your sink tap, till its running, then turn it till it only just goes off (it wont be tight) then turn off your bath tap.

your sink one will magically come on! GHOSTS!!!!

its not happened to anyone else that was running hot water for a bath , just me

but if you use the tap before hand, whilst the bath is still running, you will turn the tap "off" but it wont be all the way tight, the bath will be taking the water, so when you turn the bath tap off, the water will go through the sink instead.

i do it often when i have a shave whilst i wait for the bath to fill up, turn the tap till the water stops running, but its not all the way off. As soon as i turn the bath taps off the sink starts running again...

Sometimes, my tap downstairs comes on when i turn my boiler on or have a bath upstairs, i may be wrong, but probably something to do with the downstairs tap not being turned tight enough and the change in water pressure making it turn? sometimes makes me a bit weirded out at first when you hear the water running downstairs.

What is your window sill made of? might be a draft slowely moving it, or even maybe when you're walking in your room it moves with the vibrations and was tittering on the edge without you noticing? happens ALL the time in my house.

As for the chair, you are being abducted by Aliens.

Ok. you have a large number of explanations.
1) A draft of air.
2) Perhaps a small force happened in the circuitry.( Such as a relay switching).
3) An invisible man was in your room
4) Ghosts.

Let's just think this through, it was near a window where you would expect a large amount of air would travel through if there was a draft.
I think the chances are that there was probably a small draft that moved this alarm clock.
