Being from a middle class back ground and having been to University (not crossing paths with chavvy council house dwellers) and back I've heard the word compensation thrown around as compo loads of times so I don't see how it is :)
 
Thanks for all of the support guys, as far as compensation is concerned i would imagine im in for a few sheckles.

2 x Broken Ribs
Severe Whiplash (inc magor headaches)
Fratured Scapula (shoulder blade)
Windscreen damage to hand (cuts etc, inc foriegn bodies to small to remove)

+ im going to be off work for a while.

Im just glad that a) I bought a car with a good safety standard and b) my kids wernt with me.

Ill try n upload the 3G vid that was taken at the scene.
 
Lucky your ok mate, head on smash with a truck and you did pretty well - I wouldnt like to see my little Fiesta in the same situation :(

Best get something bigger again soon, this has made me feel violated!
 
Wow, that looks pretty bad.

Bit battered and bruised, but at least you are ok, and you've got a witness to it all which will make the insurance process a lot less painful!
 
No need to apologise, merely accept that using slang for a word like 'compensation' (Given slang was originally developed to shorten frequently used words) just says certain things, thats all ;)
 
At least in this instance the guy is injured and deserves some form of compensation, rather than "oo, so i can get money? Wait, suddenly my neck hurts!! Anyone got a number for claims-direct?"

Bad luck chap, hope all the insurance goes smoothly and you come out of it all as you were before :) Rest up and heal well!

I have been rear ended whilst stationary twice, and both times had a bit of a sore neck. But i didnt claim, im not a ***** :p

Wow must have woken you up with a right bang.

Glad you're ok and there is at least a willing witness who would not have been pleased with numpty overtaking then hitting someone.

Get some compo for that, well deserved, then buy the car, and get some new pc bits, or even a better flatscreen and some films. Always makes the recovery easier :D

Same as that, I got hit by some woman, and when I was calling the insurance company to make the claim, the woman on the phone asked if I had any injuries, to which I replied no. She then asked if I was sure and was saying things like "you might have sore neck, or headaches, things which the doctor can't really diagnose" She was really trying to talk me into make a compensation claim. I told her, No I'm fine!

Made me mad it did, the number of people that must make claims each year and then get compensation claims aswell despite being fine. And of course where does the money come from...increased insurance premiums!!!
