What is the sudden obsession with My Chemical Romance? They're certainly nothing special and neither is their album The Black Parade.

All their songs follow the same format, and after listening to Welcome to the Black Parade (which was an alright song), every other song released of that album now annoys the crap out of me because it sounds exactly the same.

Why does the lead singer in every song have one moment where he slows down the lyrics and the music, only to shout out the next word? For the instrumentals to suddenly start again? He does it on their latest single, he did it ok I'm not ok and other songs inbetween but those two stick out of my head the most.

Yet every radio station I listen to are promoting them as band of the year etc etc.

that's what a majority of people want. A bunch of sell out Emo Fags who for some reason happen to change music genre every single month. My advice, just don't even bother.

Despite their emo tendencies, they're actually pretty good once you get over it. The trick is to not turn your nose up too quickly.

It is for the kids who want to look cool. (But alas fail)

Nothing more !

oh what sad lifes you two must lead....

if you knew anything about the music industry at the moment you would know how stupid you both sound by making comments like that. but no...you are the same as a lot of other people out there happy to comment on something you have no idea about. get a life!! ;)

Why is it that every band/artist in the world release songs that are similar to the last one and fill their albums with similar sounding songs?

Oh, and if radio stations get people listening to rock which hopefully opens up their world a little bit more from the drivel they're normally force fed then its only a good thing.

And I've got to kill myself now because I didn't know MCR were Emo.

I would rather fall into the category of no life and like a decent sounding music that is progressing better and better such as in the dnb/trance scene, and not listen to this extremely god awful tripe like you seem to enjoy that has only got worse and worse over the years?....go figure really!

Try listening to something else for yourself, it isnt as if we havent heard these at all, as every young emo child you walk past has it blaring on his or her phone trying to be the new cool kid. It sounds awful, it is awful, and it has an awful following?

Really, i think the real answer is, you are the same as most people out these days, who cant get enough of this pap.

Seconded, when I first got TBP I was shocked, however, when one of the songs came up in the shuffle list, without me knowing it was them for sure, I actually liked it!

And i have tried listening to them, as i am forced to nearly most days in my mates car. But dear god they just sound so bad compared to older stuff in the rocky genre or any other form of music!

I dont mind some of this so called 'emo pap' but black parade was a bit of a non starter for me not a patch on the previous album which I enjoyed.

I would rather see young kids getting into some of this style music and haveing the desire to learn to play an instrument so in the future we may have some good bands about and less of this IMO repetative and boring rnb.

I personally thought "The Black Parade" was a pretty good album, of particular note to me were "This is How I Disappear", "Cancer" and "Mama", and I'm not sure how you would say they all sound the same either.
Overall the album comes across as a bigger more operatic version of themselves. My favorite album though would have to be "Life on the Murder Scene", the live one.

My Chemical Romance aren't emo are they? I thought they were angsty pop light rock?

Radio One have been plugging them because they hosted a gig for them didn't they?

I think they're alright, not great, but a a lot better than some of the garbage on the airwaves these days.

They're sellouts, they could be anything

i'd rather be a "NO LyfER LOL!" than listen to a band which are:

a bunch of emo fags
have no creativity whatsoever
have a douchebag singer who gets told he has to dye his hair odd colours to satisfy his pretentious needs
write songs which all sound very similar and are about similarly emo things
dull stupid lyrics

if I wanted to listen to bands which are emo, I'd atleast listen to bands which are actually good at being emo and use the "Music" to emphasis the emotion (like Dillinger Escape Plan, Misery Signals, Ion Dissonance) and have lyrics which they actually wrote which aren't retarded and make sense.
