oh what sad lifes you two must lead....

if you knew anything about the music industry at the moment you would know how stupid you both sound by making comments like that. but no...you are the same as a lot of other people out there happy to comment on something you have no idea about. get a life!! ;)

sorry but mate your totally wrong....
MCR are generally a bit pants, not really my thing, and im fed up with all the emo hype - its not big and its not clever!
id prefer to see more chavs around than these bunch of idiots although their about equal in number now! :o

''ohhhh only my chemical romance understand me'' *slases wrists*

like i said, not my thing! but dont say people you dont know have no clue about the music industry - especially when you listen to that

yeah, enough said - rant over!

that's not what a sell out is

a sell out is someone who changes what type of music they make to gain popularity and notoriety.

Enter Shikari (since everyone is talking about them at the moment) are a band which have gained much success without selling out. Same with bands like Dream Theater

Ahhh!! so true! personally i think Enter Shikari are just rubbish! but i saw an interview with them on the tv the other day, n they were saying about how they havnt changed their style to fit anybody, and thats how they have always been...

although i didnt like it when he mentioned ''we're not just an indie band that has discovered a keyboard'' ... biatch! keyboards have always been in indie bands!

Everytime I listen to their newest single (I don't love you), after the first few notes I want to sing;

"I'm a BIG BIG girl in a BIG BIG world it's not a BIG BIG thing if you LEEEEEEEEEEEEEEAAAAAAVE me"

as the start of both songs are identical. Therefore, I hate the song now. Didn't like it much to begin with, but now it's ruined.

lmao that sounds hilarious, i might sit through it just to hear this!

i just explained that bands don't need to be sellouts, infact, the other guy was the person you should have quoted.

Geez, it's not that hard to understand what a sellout is

Only MCR understand him... *insert above action here*

And while we're on the subject of music one of my fave bands has just released a new album and they're called TROUBLE. Its called Simple Mind Condition and its awesome old style 70's Sabbath type rock.

WHAT A BAND. Psychotic Reaction, The Wolf, At The End Of My Daze which are some of the finest rock songs ever sung by a singer who doesn't growl and a band that plays proper seventies riffs. Looking forward to this.

I know what a sell out is. Many artists I've worked with and know have sold out to a certain extent. I don think its true of My Chemical Romance at all. Their sound has progressed and matured over the last 4 years or so, it could be confused with selling out, but I dont think it is.

I find that the beauty of music is that if I dislike it, it's very easy to avoid. Some of you lot should try it.

They're not emo. They're pop punk. You just need to listen to them to hear that.

There music isnt emo, but there image is emo. And with their drivel being shown on all of the rockyer Sky channels, the kids (who are non the wiser) see them as emo and follow them.

Thus giving them a more emo image which kids follow, and dress up to be like them and think they are cool for then listening to MCR!

Now there is the sad life

I was going to put up a post "Hands up if you are cussing MCR and are under 20", but I checked the public profiles first and Phalanx and Dark_Injection are both 17, Indie is apparently 19. Doesn't surprise me really, anyone else?

But bands like Sunny Day Real Estate and Far didn't have much of an image. Where did the emo image come from? Kerrang! mislabbeling things and tagging buzz words onto bands?

lol mate, whats age got to do with anything?
if i dont like somthing ill quite blatently say... and so may you! thats the point in discussion isnt it?
always fun to have a good debate!

as i said, in my opinion, their pants! and arnt my cuppa tea!
im totally open to different music genres.. but this one just gets on my goat for some reason! just the way it is!

although i do agree with this point, Kerrange's fault for labelling everything... also NME does the same which is just annoying... The View were brilliant untill they got all this hype!

Heh, I wasn't having a go as in, "Oh they're so young they don't know what they're talking about". I just find that people around that sort of age tend to have very polarised views of music, and seem to put a lot of effort into being vocal about bands they don't like.

ahh ok, well i put a lot of vocal into everything, i just dont stop talking!
but yeah i do get what you mean to an extent!

i just know what i like and know what i dont... but am also open to new stuff!

My step sister has just been in the house and she's about 38.
She's discussing artists she likes and TOOL came up.
I then started spouting on about how TOOL fans discuss their music as though its wrote with mathematical equations etc and all the hidden structures and she just looked puzzled and said "I never knew, I just like their music".

Theres a story in there somewhere.
Oh yeah, don't follow the sheep, keep your eyes shut and just listen to the music.
If you don't like the music after that then you can **** off how they dress but some people **** bands off before they've heard them.

I don't actually mind them. I didn't think they were anything special before 3 Cheers for Sweet Revenge, and they certainly weren't anything special live the 3 times I seen them (each time in a larger venue, incidentally) and I certainly don't think they're anything special now.

I mean, I can see why the hype around them. I can see why people like them, why they like the music and why The Black Parade won crtical acclaim. The albums fairly decent too. Over-rated, in my opinion.

On the whole though, I don't see the fuss at all.
