My connection keeps dropping every 5 seconds

Okay i'll give it a go, use it for a week then try and get a new ISP lol.

For now i hope the factory reset works. I'll tell you one thing though, the heat coming off it is ridiculous - hot enough to the point i reckon overheating might be the problem. It's a well ventilated pretty cool room aswell.

Factory reset did nothing.

Here are some "stats" after it being on for just over an hour.

Output power (Down/Up) 19.8 dBm / 12.3 dBm
Loss of Framing (Local) 0

I switched the ethernet cable and i thought it was the solution for a couple of hours - now it's started doing it again. :(

Yeah you're right, sounds like the problem i have, like you said in my thread lol.
So in short, how did you fix this, just get a new router? Even though it works fine on other computers?

And also, did it just start happening to you? Its hasn't been like this since i got it, only in the last week or so.

I haven't managed to fix it but i'm gonna be trying to get BT send me a new router and hopefully that will sort it out (will have to wait a few days though because of the bank holidays).

And yeah, it just starting happening. It went from having no problems at all, to sometimes being like this and over time it's got to a point where it's always like it. But it feels almost as if the router got randomly damaged or something causing it to be so temperamental. I'm using it now whilst typing this but before i click to post i'll highlight and copy all of this message because the likelihood is i'll timeout and have to go back and try to post it again a couple of times, until it goes through.

Haha thats what i do when im just about to post a massive rant about something on the interent to friends or forums. Anyway, yeah im gonna call BT 'cause it's their problem that their routers are not working, hopefully i can get a HomeHub 3 out of 'em :D

Okay, my brothers back home and he's having no problems on his wired connection. So it must lie with my ethernet port on my PC?

Anyway i can somehow fix it or do i need to go and buy a network card?

lol, wtf. I've ordered a network card now that should come tomorrow. I just pinged google 25 times though and got no drops, only a couple where the latency spiked to over 100.
