Right, finally got to take some pictures of it after having parts of it sprayed and getting the clutch fixed. Rusty wing was replaced by a pattern one and sprayed.
Its a 1987 528i, has the smallest of the M30 'big six' configurations. Still it has 184hp, making it pretty willing. Not many options, it has power sunroof and 4x power windows. Everything works though, which is impressive. I would have liked sport leather interior but since there are always plenty being scrapped I've not given up hope. Mainly I bought it due to the thick wedge of history with it, thousands spent in the last few years alone, with bills back to 1990.
Unfortunately fixing the clutch proved costly (i.e. much more than £450 purchase price!) but hopefully its all sorted now. Future plans include fixing roly-poly handling (actually not that bad) with either full Spax adjustables or some other route.
