My first build - Black / Orange Corsair 300r

Option 1 = warranty void and difficult for someone with no soldering skills.

Option 2 = warranty intact and will look much better than using sticky back plastic. Also shouldn't be too difficult to do, if you can find the connectors!

I've seen you can buy various opaque coloured ones but not seen clear orange yet... Not sure if they are universal or you would need to get ones designed for your power supply

Yer, finding the connectors is going to be the hard part I think. Be great If they could be sourced though.

I just did a quick Google search and found some solid orange ones. Even these should be an improvement as the light will probably still show through slightly being plastic. No idea if they're compatible though but they look like the same connector. Will do some research.

OK I've got a much simpler idea.

Humbrol clear orange enamel paint - used for Airfix kits and the such. Just googled it and it is £1.70 per tin:

Humbrol 1322 Orange Clear - 14ml Enamel Paint

I assume by clear they mean it is translucent after painting. You could test it out on one of the spare PSU cables, and this paint is designed to coat plastic so it will be ideal!

" This No 1322 Clear Colour Orange Enamel modeling paint by Humbrol is also a fast dry paint developed specifically designed for clear parts & clear surfaces such as; clear plastic or glass. "

You sir, deserve a pint!

Thanks mate. Only did a quick google but going to research later tonight before i jump back on overclocking. Looks like i need 'a suitable thinner' also you see and can't apply directly. Also requires polishing? Will look into it properly tonight. Nice one on the find, looks ideal and easiest option!

No worries! Not sure how to apply it myself, have only ever used matt/gloss Humbrol paints myself (I used to do airfix when I was a kid).

You can practise on some other clear plastic or one of the spare PSU cables.
