My First Crash

Had a guy on a scooter just now up my chuff along some A roads, looked quite comfortable keeping up at 60mph, and was only wearing shorts and t shirt (and helmet) !

if he's 17 he's aloud to be at those speeds. Still a numpty for not wearing protective clothes, still I cant say much about that either.

That's why you should ALWAYS wear protective gear with a motorbike. My father has been in 2 coma's from riding motorbikes when he was younger (he's now 65+), and 1 came from not wearing a helmet. You so much as touch anything at speed on a bike even with protective gear and you could be in severe trouble. Make sure you wear the best you can afford. And as 1 guy said after wearing a cheap helmet and watching the tarmac get closer as his helmet wore away.... if you have something worse protecting get the best helmet, if not don't bother.

2nd as mentioned, you should have slowed down enough BEFORE you entered the corner. On a motorbike and braking IN the corner you are asking to slide out as you are unbalancing the bike, and potentially locking the wheels.

Glad to hear your not too badly injured, just get yourself checked out, holiday or not.

Judging by the OP's description of what happened and subsequent responses it seems like he's lucky to be still with us!
