I tried it this morning with a monopod but got into a right pickle when trying to swap bodies, actually fell off the stool
The 300 is very light so I'll try handholding but ill take the monopod along.
There'll be no pints though, it's a youth match kicking off at 11 o'clock, more like diet cokes and mars bars!
I've got to watch the first team at 3 so I hope the timing works out OK.

Nice I keep meaning to go to their games as my adopted English team (I'm a Falkirk fan)
I'll have a rehearsal in the morningTypically the guys I see with two bodies the big lens is usually kept on the monopod and the second camera is either slung over their shoulder or beside their feet so they can lean the big one across their legs and use the second one straight away handheld.
We've got one of your heroes playing for us, Farid.Nice I keep meaning to go to their games as my adopted English team (I'm a Falkirk fan)
you've got some good action shots there. One thing i would say, and its my personal opinion. The shots of the solitary figure kicking the ball, isn't that interesting. Two or more players in the shot either chasing a ball, putting a challenge in etc is far better. Will be good to see if you get asked again to continue with following the youth team.
I actually like the shots of lone players with the ball. Decent shots and I'm sure the player themselves wouldn't mind them for bragging rights either![]()
Thanks, there was one who was sticking out his tongue in concentration, I don't think he will be in the queue somehow![]()
apologies for not replying. For some reason i didn't pop into the photography section over the weekend!
Did you manage ok apart from the photo that you posted? One comment i would have about it is that you shouldn't be afraid to crop it quite tight. In my opinion the shot can still tell the story without having all that fence above the players and if you crop the right just after the managers on the other side of the pitch.
