My first RWD and turbo car

You cannot blame the car for that.

It's not the cars fault but it remains a fact that the average driver is more likely to do that in that car than he would be in, say, a Clio 182 or something. It requires skill to handle properly, skill that many (including myself!) are lacking in.

He'd have carried on in a Clio or a Focus ST with only a wet wheelarch to show for it.

More skill, or more care.

I don't push my 200 in the wet because I realise I may not be able to correct it if it goes wrong, especially at high speed. I am yet to have an incident after 2 years ownership.

Doesn't mean I don't enjoy it in the dry though :).

He was on full power with one wheel in puddle. Rwd noob error, nothing more

Exactly, not a situation he'd have been in whilst driving a Focus ST, which is pretty much the point being made I think? And presumably the ESP would have given him a helping hand in something less raw yet still RWD. I don't think anyone is criticising the VX220 as being dangerous, merely suggesting that as a proper hardcore RWD sports car it requires proper care to drive and skill to drive fast.

Great looking car, I bet its a lot of fun. Bit to hardcore for me everyday though. I think I would get annoyed with it mid December:p

Think this is the point I was trying to make :D

Doesn't bother me as personally I am capable of realising the throttle isn't actually a 2 position switch. Others, however, genuinly seem to struggle with this concept :(.

Yeah dropping your tyres off at the pool for a splish splash is unwise at full chat.

I don't dream of going anywhere near WOT in the S2000 when wet (Not in low gears anyway) and VTEC use is EXTREMELY measured.

Don't be a muppet and you will keep it on the black stuff. Easy really.

He was not on full power and was changing gear very early. It was an NA behind him and he was in a stage 2 turbo (Stage 2 meaning about 250HP). Anyway it still came down to too much right foot in poor conditions, he has learnt his lesson and hopefully will not repeat it. He was lucky to be able to drive away after a short stop in a more or less undamaged car.

Ouch the worst of it the one in front looked like he was going at a faster pace!!

She. ;)
