My first wedding!

Very very useful read.

I think I'll go back over these tonight rather than do the second lot. In doing so I'll pay closer attention to highlights, and try to stick to a single processing style for colour and one for black and white.

I think this a cool set and love the angels but I guess thats why photography is so subjective. And if your down with what's in now blown highlights are also cool and some of the top togs are using it but some people hate it as much as soft focusing. You will never keep everyone happy ;)

There are some really cracking images in there. I think the shots inside the church of the ceremony are great and it's not often you see someone capture that part of the wedding so well. So well done on that.

I think with a bit more consistency in the processing (not personally a fan of the soft processed ones at the start) it will help with the narrative of the day. As others have said, it's too disjointed as it is.

I look forward to seeing some more though.

Can you give details of how you were using flash especially on #6, 15 to 20.

Impressed - well done !

All of the shots with flash were simply in ETTL mode, with the wide angle flappy thing down and with a simple diffuser on the flash. Flash aimed directly at the subjet, and shooting in AV mode.

Thanks :)

Lovely shots as always . Just not enough of Helen ;)

Persil

Here you go ;)

Goes off to find small tupperware 'difuser' for a quick play.

Question. Were you there to photograph the wedding or your girlfriend? :p

I was hoping no one would notice that. Naturally I took a fair few of my GF but I'll perhaps omit these from the set that I deliver to the B&G, as she shows up in a fair few :)

I was doing them a favour though, so I'll take pictures of what I like :p

:D

Wasn't having a go!

Awesome photos none the less though! There's no way I'd manage anything like that for a long while yet.

Okey dokey, I've done a re-edit on the 'getting ready' shots, to try and give them a bit more punch, and to make them more consitent with the black and whites from later in the set.

Now, I know that I have probably overdone the black and white in these shots, but I simply cannot get them looking good in colour, so no comments on the fact they're all black and white please.

The B&G told me they love black and white, so I simply meeting the brief............. :p

Compared to the first ones posted, any better?

To me the best shot, although 99% of them are good, but the one i stopped and looked at twice was 27.

Good eye to spot the lighting. You will make a fine wedding photographer, like wverythign else, practice is all you can do.

Good pictures.

By the way, let me know if they pick any of them getting ready for the album, out of the 80+ ive done, not one picks any of them... so ive stopped doing it.

To me they look loads better, more powerfull but retain a classy look good job dude.

IMO the last picture is good composition, but misses somthing, don't know what.

I feel much happier about the re-processed ones, I have OcUK to thank for that :)

Possesed, are you referring to my last post, with the kid being held, as missing something?

Yeah, I can't tell what but the picture seems a little plain. No details, perhaps. I don't know it's a keeper and a good one for the family.

But from a photography POV it's the only one that doesn't fit.

Perhaps thats good?? Perhaps by standing out it will draw attention to it in a positive way when the family flicks through the album/book ect.
