Had a family of the cuties living in a drawer last year

Apart from a few cardboard fanbelt sleeves they didn't do any damage.

Isn't there a chance that they could have some nasty decease that they can pass on to you if you get bitten, weils disease or something

Mice, yes. Rats, no. As soon as you give a rat a bath and a shampoo (use dog or cat shampoo, not human versions), it will be the cleanest animal out there.

Rats are EXTREMELY clean animals. Even thier pee is relative close to just water.

The only way rats can really carry any form of disease is on thier fur. There's quite a bit of thier body they cannot reach themselves to clean, unlike a cat.
