as for the original post yes she is crazy, yes she took the picture herself, yes she is an attention whore
the sensible part of me says as ** gf is locked into a lease with the girl to just ignore her... the fun part of me that uses the net to mess up other peoples lives says u should seriously try to prang her out
get into her room (while shes asleep), take about 100 different pictures of her... and then put all the pictures all over her walls

The bit that made me smile is 'The flatmate miraculously decided that she might have accidentally taken the picture in her sleep.' because people do things like that all the time, don't they? Based on what you've said, she seems deeply insecure, possibly a compulsive liar, and needs to realise the impact of doing thing like this. Trying the same game back on her, ie making stuff up to worry her, is just likely to agrivate the situation and make her worse.
I'd just pay her no attention, and take anything she says with a large lake of salt.

I had a friend like this before, the stories that she made up were a lot worse than these though. I still speak to her but dont trust a word what she says, surpised she hasnt turned into modeling, as most wannabe models are attention seekers

Just ignore her, they usually give up after a while. Kid i work with is an attention whore, he always bangs around when he's having a mardy, he used to mope around saying he wanted to die, me and my mate put up with this for about 6 months before it became apparent that he was just being pathetic, from then on any time he said it, we'd just get a knife and say well if it's that bad sod off and kill yourself then, he soon stopped doing it.
