My graphics card isn't detecting!

9/10 of not detecting is because the card is not fully sat down correctly so...
1,,,,take card out and check there are no bent pins and give them a quick clean with a tissue and alcohol
2... check your pci slot just to make sure that it is clear and nothing has become stuck
3.... insert card back in making sure that your release tab comes back up and it is level all the way across
4....plug power back in and boot up
5.... hopefully it should have been detected ... check under device manager

goodluck

It still isn't being detected unfortunately.

Last month there was a thunderstorm which hit my router. My ethernet cable hasn't been able to work since. Do you think this could've had an effect on the rest of my motherboard, damaging the PCI-E slot somehow?

I don't know if this is the answer! I'm only asking.

Is a Corsair VS350 powerful enough? How many hard drives and what memory is installed? Anything else drawing power?

The CPU uses around 100w The card uses up to 150W.
That only leaves 100w for everything else.

I have 1 have 1 seagate 1000gb hdd, 1 8gb 1600mhz ram stick and an optical drive.

You should get something in device manager regardless if anything is plugged into the graphics card hdmi or dvi. The card is most likley faulty or the motherboard does not support the card, it needs testing in another computer to see if its okay or broken as you seem to have done everthing else.

Ok I'll ask one of my friends if I can plug it into their PC.
