Don't put it anywhere particularly warm.
MikeHunt79 said:Err, why did you put it in the freezer? Does it make it last longer or something?

killer_uk said:Make sure you don't get your fingers stuck to it. Like I did. Ouch
ummm... ok :Stsj said:Lol... to retrieve my data it died on my on the weekend.
killer_uk said:You did stick it in an air tight bag didn't you? I tried to use the freezer method when my hard drive died, sadly it didn't work though. Some people do say it works long enough for them to get the data off, but it's a last resort thing.
Obviously though, if it's out for any period of time, water will start to gather on the drive, and it did in my case, it never shorted though. But to be honest, I never really had it connected up for too long as I knew it hadn't worked.

What problem are you getting anyway? The dreaded click, click, click when booting?
Unlucky mang... I've been there - never nice whne a HD dies.tsj said:Lol... to retrieve my data it died on my on the weekend.

I wonder if you had a longer IDE and power cable, you could run the HD while it was still in the freezer?
