My i7 3930K 3.20 OCing Follow Along!

Just wanted to start a thread to show you my results and hopefully pick up some tips along the way (New OCer here)

Here's my rig:

i7 3930K 3.20 2011 / Corsair H100 Liquid Cooler
P9X79 Pro Socket 2011
Gainward GTX 680 Phantom 4GB
G-Skill 32GB DDR3 1866MHz
Corsair Professional Series Gold AX 1200W Modular PSU
Corsair Obsidian 800D Case
------------

I'll post what iv'e altered after iv'e found stability but from the start nothing is OC'ed one bit.

Why is it when I change the memory frequency from Auto to 1866MHz it just goes **** up, BSOD or Red screen or not even booting to desktop.

Make sure you change the DRAM voltage from AUTO to whatever the rated voltage is for that speed (1.55v).

edit: my bad I had set defaults and it went back to 11-11-11-28 on timings, doh!

I'm just in no mood. Cooler I for doesn't fit in orientation it should and the mounting mechanism is such a pain that I gave up trying to mount it differently after half an hour.

Could have done without this.

Update:

Right i've had a tinkle and stressed it on OCCT and I get this after a 10 minute test

What is CPUTIN?

Max stress the cores were all under 60C.......

Going to disable the CPUTIN disable test option and run Realtemp along side. To me CPUTIN is a throw off?

It's probably just a false reading, get Coretemp to monitor temps and use something like Prime 95 to stress test.

Could be a BIOS thing, never seen that on mine. I have BIOS 1010 from early April, maybe you have an old 'un?
