My Intel G2 can write at ~160MB/sec!?

Im secure erasing the free space, so it's effectively writing zeros...

Edit: Now it's slowed down to 70MB/sec.

WTF was going on there!?

probably a big area of sectors that were already zero. if they're already zero then they don't need to be rewritten and hence super-fast.
