You are most welcome. I keep that website address in "my favourites" folder just for situation's like this.

There is one final thing i would change though. The ram. For an extra £8 you can have the OCZ Reaper kit with tighter timings.

If I'm looking at the right one, both sets of RAM are 5-5-5-18? Isn't that what I want?

OK, so my complete ignorance of RAM timings is going to show through here, but that means that 4-4-4-15 is in fact better than 5-5-5-18?

Edit: Also, wouldn't getting the OEM CPU = No warranty?
Edit: OK, ignore my stupidity, I just read up on ram timings and general rule lower=better so thanks for the info!

I'm no expert, but generally the lower the better I believe... Although in reality I suspect you've never notice the actualy difference between say CL5 and CL4, unless you were glued to some value from a benchmark?
 
There's a basic difference between the one I was planning on getting and the one you posted.

The one you posted looks like it's straight from a terminator movie. So pretty much, it wins :D

This rig has gone through more revisions than I can remember, so hopefully we've finally got to a good place! All within budget too!
 
For the sake of a couple of pounds, I'd rather have a full manufacturers warranty (isn't that how it works?) plus I'll have a backup heatsinc (albeit a bad one) just in case. It's only like a 3 pound difference :)

Agreed, it's worth paying the extra £3 for the extra 2 years warrenty even though it's doubtful that it would go wrong. Small price for piece of mind.

That will be a very nice rig. You are good to go now. :D:D:D

All ordered using the new promotion! VERY happy with this rig falling in under budget, I'll take pictures of the build process, and catalogue any issues I have with the build/overclock. I ordered it pretty late in the day, so I might have to wait until Monday for delivery, but fingers crossed I might have it tomorrow!

Sorry, about the image quality, the camera in my phone isn't exactly great! I'll take some pics of the build process as it's coming together!
 
Looking good there. That's my favourite part, seeing everything in the boxes. Can't wait to see it all together, up and running. Keep us posted ;)
 
Build pics! They're in a weird order, but nevermind :P





Had a small issue when booting where it was telling me that there was "Chassis intrustion detected! System halted!" but re-seating the motherboard seems to have fixed that problem.

Installing Vista x64 now, then on to the overclock :)
