my loud fan..

Sup,

right i have have my dell 3100 for about 2 months now,
and the fan ( on board ) is really loud now.. i could keep it on all night with out turning it off.. but i can now hear it from downstairs, is there something with the fan?? and is they anyway i can turn it down, with out adding anything 2 my pc?

Any help will be great full

p.s i have tryed speedfan.. doesnt work

Could just be a loud far. Normally if it pushes a lot of air it will be louder than normal. Clean the dust off it maybe if there is any. Is there anything caught in it?

What's the CPU load? If it's real busy it'll be producing more heat. That heat needs to go away so the fan must spool up to push it away and maintain constant temperature.

cpu is 10% with msn running and ocuk running 2..

isnt no dust.. i clean it every week.. and its got a big hole in the front

Prob a noisey fan? the air being pulled in at a guess and out at the back? Has it always been noisey?

when i first got it.. it was like it was not there.. i couldnt even hear it when i was trying to get 2 bed, so i really dont know what has up set it

Well its nothings in the way of it, air flow is unobstructed, not knocking against anything it could well be on its way out?

Try it in another location to see if it makes same noises,or out side of case say plug it in but unmounted.

Our Dell had that happen to it. It was silent at first and then one day i turned it on and it sounded like a vaccuum cleaner. Had to get it sorted out by Dell.
