My MR2 Turbo MPG Record!

My car has a trip computer.
which works from the speedo reading giving from the electronic speed sensor that goes into the ecu to gauge distance, we all know how accurate speedos are!

I think the most I got was 300 miles from a tank IIRC (after a steady 90mph cruise down the M1)

I couldn't do 56mph constantly, I'd be bored rigid.

I was quite pleased with that as normally it was around 180 miles :(

You know Honda?

My dad's civic said we were doing 72mpg a few weekends ago, doing 65-70 on a dual carriageway for about 20 miles, stuck in a traffic jam for 45 minutes in newton abbot, and about 40 miles minor A roads :)

Is this the MR2T or the CTR?

Anything less than 65 mph and I swear - my eyes start getting heavy and I just want to close them for a few seconds.

I bet Gibbo gets worse mpg than me, that makes me feel better about it ;)

Your probably not wrong, though the modifications I've made have certainly improved MPG when my foot is not on the loud pedal as much.

Anyway I average about 14MPG which is mainly city/urban and short blast of dual carriage way and I drive most of it with my foot to the floor. If I was to behave more and use the higher gears and the engines torque I could probably improve that to 16MPG. So if I used 5th gear which is an overdrive, rated for about 220-240mph, lol then maybe I could see 20MPG on the motorway. :)

Though I don't think about fuel cost as I did not buy the car with fuel cost in mind........ ;)
