There should not be any difference. You using DVI - DVI connection? got the res set to the monitors native res?
Maybe you had windows font smoothing option turned off before and it's been enabled now?
In the Nvidia control panel theres an option called 'Change flat panel scaling' you can set it to use the monitors built in scaling or Nvidia's.
Its a nvidia thing - something to do with the RAMDACs they use im told
the 8 series finally took the IQ crown back from ATi, it was all series cards that preceded the 8's that were crap IQ.
All Nvidia cards that were before the 8800's were poor IQ compared to ATi.
I dunno Loadsa, the X2 I have just edges over the quality of my 8800GTX on a 24" monitor

Thats not true, the FX series had excellent IQ, the performance was crap but the IQ was actually very good.
