My new bike > Honda CB1000R

Love it ... Would buy one in a heartbeat but its just to slow :)

Why oh why do Jap naked designers decide that its a good idea to cut the balls off there naked engines !! Yes i understand they dont need to be abe to do 170+mph but do they really have to drop it from 160bhp to 109 bhp (about the same as a 600) .

Im sure they could have kept it to 140ish and retuned for more midrange ...messed with the gearing and it would still be fun !!

But enjoy yer new steed sir !!

I agree... I'd love that bike but with a full blown 08 blade mill, untouched. Imagine how insane the bike would be to ride, and a ton of fun.

I can understand where you're coming from, but, it puts out 123BHP and it will out run a 2007 CBR1000RR to 100MPH, i know, i've done it, the acceleration is just amazing.

Lovely. I used to ride the hornet 900 (which I believe the cb1000 has replaced) and it was great fun. Given yours has an extra 20hp or so I bet it'll fly. Love the wheels too.

Nice bike, if I ever get a second bike to go with the harley it may well be something of this sort of style.

It's the same as a bike without, until you lock a wheel, then it could save your life. Can't think of a single disadvantage.

Couldnt agree more although the first time it kicks in and starts feeding back through the front brake control it doenst half feel wierd.

Pity thats at the crank figure not at the wheel .. Im afraid its 109 at the wheel and im sure given the low/mid end tunning and lower gearing it will be very brisk to a ton ..

My Tuono kills a Gsxr1000 K7 to a ton but then quicklys gets reeled in by aerodynamics . and im running 140bhp .

Please dont think im slagging yer bike as im not...I would be down to a dealership tomorrow if they had fitted the 2008 engine and gave it at least 140bhp as i think it looks the dogs and definetly the best looking naked bike on the market atm (bar the zorst).

But looks like im gonna be forced into getting a Bking as suzuki seem to be the only people who are happy not to restrict/retune there engines when they go naked .

Nice bike... I want a go on one of these myself, but I'm a bit nervous in case I like it too much

The only thing I don't like about the "new" bikes are the exhausts, they just do nothing for me. I do like big fat pipes on bikes.

Yep, some of them you just know full well that they were designed with the understanding that most people would replace them, like the recent GSXRs. Which is fair enough really :D

I was going to write 'wheres the exhaust?'
But I don't think it would be funny now people have already made comments about the exhaust :(

Very nice bike! And as many have said.. The exhaust doesn't look bad.. It just doesn't add anything to it :(

Hey d.chatten, just seen this thread. You a member on HondaCB1000R.com as well then? I've got a black non-ABS too, but I've got to part with mine :(
