After a few months of looking around i've finally taken the plunge and bought one of my favourite childhood cars. Adored the look of them when they were originally released and love it just as much today. Here she is:

RX7-front.jpg

Its a 1995 RX7 standard Japanese import. Bodywork is in pretty much perfect condition and the interior is also pretty clean too. No plans as yet with the engine as i'm still adjusting to having quite a lot of power. It's lovely to drive and does seem to get quite a few looks which surprised me, even had a couple of people ask me what it is in only 4 weeks of ownership. Handling is nice and tight, very grippy and very agile. Only downside i've found so far is the fuel economy, my god it is horrendous :p but I did kind of expect that. Anyone else have one of these then?

didnt someone on here have a modified one that he managed to damage the bumper on?

Drexel?

nice rex.

but...

NO SPOILERS!
NO BODYKITS!
NO STICKERS!
NO WEIRD FROGGY 4-LAMP CONVERSIONS!

*n

Not going to be putting anything on it bodywise, only changes I am planning on are new sidelights (old ones are a bit cloudy and show age) and the side reflectors being changed for clear units instead of Orange. That is all.

Funny you should mention the oil. The level is fine at the moment but I do know that they burn it, problem is I am hearing mixed reports on what oil to replace it with. Some say a quality synthetic is the best and some say just a good quality standard oil. Apparently there are rumours that some synthetics don't burn cleanly or efficiently and so they are to be avoided, but the latest synthetics have remedied that problem. Anybody got any knowledge or experience in this area?

Very cool car. Radical when it was launched, it still looks fresh today considering it's a ~15 year old design.

Congrats :).
