My new car!

Looks great and will keep an eye on this thread. ;)

There is a really nice looking red MX5 at a garage near me. Looks really sweet as it has had a respray recently and costs about £2750 or so. It has black wheels with a red trim around them between the alloy and the tire. Not sure if I am too keen on them though.

Shame I don't think I will get insurance with it. :(

Good luck with your new car mate.

http://www.rotashop.co.uk/p1040454.htm (or is all black better?)
http://www.rotashop.co.uk/p1040392.htm(live them, but heavier than the rest, and not sure I love them...)
http://www.rotashop.co.uk/p1040370.htm (like these to!)

I've done well narrowing it down to 4, but now I'm stuck!
Im 99% decided on 15's, think 16's too big for the car really.

I was sold on toyo T1R's on such a light car, but the GSD 3's are £20 cheaper....

Yes 15" max. I think the GT3's could be nice. You signed up to mx5nutz forum? If not then do so, you will find loads of pics of mx5's with Rota wheels.

Yeah if the Eagle F1's are cheaper than go for them.

Oh and 10-15% discount in the link below.

Oh and he should be able to sort you out with tyres too, and you get a free set of locking nuts with each purchase.

GT3's are a bit played out, the Civic cre love them, same as the slips. Grids might look a bit odd. So if you're not worried about being a trend whore, the GT3's would fit the bill as they have a classic look to them. The two tone slips if you

Also, out of interest, who are you insured with? That's an attractive premium cost.

The best for mx5's is the Admiral group most owners find. So that is Admiral, Elephant, Bell and Sheila's wheels. I have been with Bell 2 years running now and they are by far the cheapest for me. I pay ~£800 for a 1.8 import with mods declared at 21.

Strangely churchill!! I don't know what the mx5 cost is, but there was no increase from the golf and I have 5 months of policy left. they didn't care it was an import either strangely, I made her triple check and send it me in writing to be sure!!

It was a well haggled price earlier in the year when insuring the golf, I left it with them at £480 and they rang me back with £418 I think it was, started at well over £500. I also do have a pretty good post code.

On the wheel front I really like the slipstreams (with the silver lip)! The GT3 is a little bit more classic though, I think I have narrowed it down to those two anyway...... at the moment the slips win because they are lighter! lol

I'm on mx5nutz and thanks for the link..

I'm with Churchill for my CTR and they refuse to insure an import till I'm 25! (I'm 24). Ugh, will be calling them to give some earache as limiting me to UK cars is such a hassle. I'm tempted to cancel it but I ca't be bothered paying outright for insurance again when it costs me £1200 to £1500 with no points and 3 years no claims.

Well I'm not 25 ( I'm 23) and they are insuring my import, I have it in writing and she also asked a colleague as I didn't believe her!

It won't be that high, I am 21 with 3 years ncb and a stock 1.8 import would be in the £700 area!
