Instead of adding these to the rather unremarkable 'mileage questions' thread, I thought I'd stick them up in a new one.

So voila, my new car:

It's a 1990 BMW 325i SE, with M-technics suspension and various other detail bits. The car, of course, is equipped with the 2.5 litre straight six howling out (through the factory optional decat exhaust) 171BHP and 166ft.lb, redlining at 6700RPM.

Have to say I'm quite suprised at the level of kit - it's got headlight wash/wipe, electric sunroof, overhead warning console, all electric windows, electric mirrors, external temperature sensor, four headrests, trip computer, stopwatch, limiter (just a visible/audible one, mind), factory tweeters (along with 4 speakers and CD player), intermittent wipers and more.

Nice to have a really good alarm system on it too - just gives it that modern edge, with remote central locking, autolocking on engine start, ultrasonic interior alarm and so on.

What can I say, I'm extremely impressed with it and love it to bits already. It does everything you want it to and then some and has plenty to entertain you. Feels very well built as you'd expect also and shows it's 28.5k original invoice when new!

Badge, anyone?:

Drives beautifully too with very little roll, plenty of grip, a smooth ride - and much to my suprise - really revs. Found myself bouncing it off the limiter today out of a junction (after cleaning it so obviously a little slippy), grabbing second and watching the speed pile on!

Love it!

Driver's bolster doing exceptionally well, given the mileage and age:

Toolkit, warning triangle, all that jazz, all present!

Original alloys will be staying, they look good and it's got a nice stance on them:

Engine bay needs a good clean!

Looks really really good. Would love to go out in it, have always liked E30's. Plus a friend, who will probably also reply would be interested going out in it.

Oh and it's got one of these too:

Really quite remarkable! :D

Doesn't show much wear, does it:

Love the wheel :)

Still original to the core - right down to it's dealer plates and stickers! :)

Be staying that way, too, probably. Really doesn't feel like you could do much to improve it! Just going to give it a real good inside and out clean (although it's not bad already), clean the carpets, shine up the engine bay, those kind of things. Maybe invest in uprated pads and discs, bits like that, when they come up for replacement.

Feels very 90s powerbroker, especially with the interior doorcards and detailing - and the colour.

Need some red braces and a filofax now!

No leathers?

I saw one on like this on a program about 3 weeks ago, had leathers, chrome tipped exhaust, new bonnet and some other work done to it. Sold for about £2.2k!!

No leathers?

No - odd that! I don't know how common it is, or was on these models? Have to say, I don't mind as it's really very comfortable and quiet inside and I don't have to deal with the heat of the leather in the summer (no aircon, natch). Might be something to look for in the distant future though :)

What a beauty. This is from when White was cool 1st time round :D

Aye - always had a thing for white 4 door saloons - my first car:
