My NEW HD won't appear in My Computer

Sorry for the noob title; I'm not that stupid

I've connected my new HD and Windows recognises it in the Hardware Manager, but how do I set itup and assign a drive letter?

OK. I found the Disk Manager and it's not formatting. FFS this is taking ages!

Cancelled and did a Quick Format. Working great now!

Start -> Settings -> Control Panel -> Admin Tools -> Computer Managment.

Under Storage there is Disk Managment, you prob have to format and then you can change the drive letter.

You might want to do a full-format if the drive is brand new. It takes a while on a big drive, so just go and put your feet up with a coffee.
